Privacy policy

PS Trophy Tracker ("the app", "we") is an independent app for PlayStation trophy hunters, run by a private developer. It is not affiliated with Sony Interactive Entertainment. This policy explains what data the app and the website at pstrophytracker.com use, why, and how you stay in control. Contact: trackerpstrophy@gmail.com.
What we store
- Your account: your email address and your password. The password is stored only as a one-way scrambled value (bcrypt); nobody, including us, can read it.
- Your PlayStation link: the PSN ID you connect, its account number and your PSN profile picture link. To prove the PSN ID is yours you put a short code in your PlayStation "About me" for a moment; we read it once.
- Your public trophy data: your games, trophies, trophy level and dates, read from PlayStation. We can only read what your public PlayStation profile already shows. We never ask for your PlayStation password.
- What you create in the app: your settings, lists (favorites, backlog, wishlist, trophies to do and their private notes), community tags, tips and votes, reports, and feedback messages you send. Tips and community tags can be seen by other players; notes are private.
- Notifications: if you allow them, your phone's push address, the app language and your time zone, so messages arrive in your language at a sensible time. We keep a short log of which notifications were sent so you never get the same one twice.
- Feedback: when you send feedback, the phone's system and app version are added to help find bugs.
What we do not do
- No advertising, no tracking across apps or websites, no analytics services.
- We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
- We never ask for or store your PlayStation password.
Who else is involved
- Our server (database and app backend) is a rented server of Contabo GmbH in Germany (European Union).
- Sony PlayStation Network: we read public trophy data from it.
- Expo and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging deliver push notifications to your phone (only the push address and the message text).
- Resend sends emails we must send you (for example confirming a new email address) and delivers feedback messages to the developer.
- DeepL and Microsoft Azure Translator translate community tips and trophy texts into other languages (only that text, without your account details).
- YouTube: trophy videos play in the official YouTube player, which is run by Google under its own privacy policy.
- Cloudflare provides the domain name service for pstrophytracker.com.
- Guide links open the guide authors' own websites (for example PowerPyx) in your browser, under their own policies.
On your phone and in your browser
The app keeps your login on your phone so you stay logged in, remembers your last email address and your color theme, and keeps an encrypted copy of non-critical data (trophy lists, your games) to load faster and to save requests to PlayStation. Everything can be rebuilt from our server and is removed when you sign out. The website remembers your chosen language in your browser. We use no tracking cookies.
Your choices and rights
- Make your profile private, hide single games, and turn each kind of notification on or off in the app's Settings.
- Delete your account in the app (Settings, Account). Your account and everything linked to it is deleted from our database right away. Copies in our private backups disappear within 14 days.
- You can ask us at any time what we store about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by writing to trackerpstrophy@gmail.com. If you live in the EU or UK you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
How long we keep data
Your data is kept while your account exists. Notification logs are kept for up to 60 days, news headlines for 30 days, backups for 14 days. Players who are banned for breaking the rules may have their PSN ID kept on a ban list.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new date.
